The Studio

Encore Dance Studio is located in a safe, well-lit, commercial area in Harahan. Retail Shops, restaurants, and coffee houses surround us. Encore is also available for rent. Various organizations including theatre groups, dance companies, conventions, and more have rented Encore Dance Studio as a rehearsal space. Call or email for rental rates and availability.

Encore Dance Studio is a 1500 square foot facility that provides an open, professional dance space. Safety and injury prevention are very important to us. Our Stagestep dance floor is installed above a raised subfloor that is designed to provide dancers with absorption and resilience. If the floor is not absorbent, the body becomes the shock absorber, resulting in fatigue, pain, and injury. This design also provides a non-slip surface and lateral support. V

 

 

Dress Code for Children & Teens

• Ages 2-8: Any combination of black or pink dance attire (leotard and tights), pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes with elastic ties (no bows), hair pulled back. Black jazz shoes for jazz and barefoot for tumbling. Colored dance attire may be worn for tumbling, jazz and acting.

• Ages 10-12: Solid color leotard, pink, tan, or black tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes, barefoot for umbling. Hair pulled back. Colored dance attire may be worn for tumbling, jazz and acting. No t-shirts or shorts.

• Teens: Ballet- solid leotard, pink or black tights, pink ballet shoes, hair pulled back. Tap- Black tap shoes, comfortable clothing. Jazz- Any combination of dance clothing, no T-shirts, no shorts, black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers.

• Male Children & Teens: Jazz & Tap- T-shirts (not oversized), sweat pants or dance pants, jazz sneakers or jazz shoes, black tap shoes, no shorts or tennis shoes. Ballet- clothing same as above and split sole male ballet shoes.
